Last night was a very special night. It's not a very good thing per se but I looked at it in a very optimistic perspective. I realized something that really got in to me that I just have to write a post about it. This post is in fact published ahead of my post regarding my grandmother's 1st Death Anniversary.
Here's what happened. Our church (Sumulong Baptist Church-Makati)is on the third floor of the Kalayaan Market Building. And guess what? It flooded because of last night's rains. Typhoon Juan is in the process of beating Metro Manila. We're still wrapping up our Youth Service when the water started to creep from the nursery room to the auditorium. We had to cancel our Evening Service.
The management of the building we're in isn't doing anything about the busted gutter on the building's roofing. I wasn't feeling well (I had a high fever and my head hurts) so I wasn't able to do anything to help. But you know what? I saw how each member of my church worked together to get rid of the floodwaters. I saw how God's people worked together in unity. I saw how they cared for our place of worship. And most of all, I saw how God moved in everyone's life that night.
The Bible is very accurate when it said in Psalm 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity!" I know God is not yet done with our church. He has greater things planned for us. We just need to rely on Him and trust Him.
We've got a lot of church activities for the coming month of November. Brent and Amanda Longenecker will be our special guests in our Youth Services for the next monbths and I pray that God will touch the hearts of the people we're going to reach out and may God move in their lives.
With God, all things are possible!
BTW, I'm feeling alright now. No more fever and headaches.
Praise God for all He's done!
