Adieu Ma Tantine Gloria, Adieu...
This post is dedicated to one of the sweetest aunts I've had,GLORIA TUMANG ISIP. May you find rest in the arms of our Creator.
I haven't even posted my tribute about Kuya Lou who passed away last month and here am I posting another tribute.
I just talked to my sister who told me the devastating news. Aunt Loi passed away.
I'd love to add more but my tears are about flow down my cheeks. I guess this post has to wait.

EIGHT. NINE. TEN. Le Neuvieme Jour D'Aout Deux-mille et Dix
With 10.10.10. still two months away, I'll revel on today's 8.9.10. Isn't it fun when the dates are sequential or all the same? Well, I'll give you this. Dates can never dictate nor even give you a hint of whatever happened or will happen on that day. Sure, memories can be connected with dates, but it can never give you the whole story nor the big picture.
"I know of a man who came in 15 minutes late for his Philosophy class. He knew an exam will be given that day so he hailed a cab and did not take public transportation. He still arrived late in his class. He took the exam while most of the class is about to finish. He was rattled by the difficulty of the exam, that he actually wrote on the questionnaire not on a yellow pad paper as written on the question sheet.
To make matters worse, he only answered around 9 questions in the exam, because the professor asked the class to put the pens down and pass all the papers. Fortunately for him, out of the 9 questions he answered, 6 of which are correct.
After the exam, he went to his next class. A programming class. The professor in his class is not so good. So does her English grammar. He's so pissed because this professor just reads her presentation and does not explain to the class why the code in his presentation is the right and how to arrive at the correct code for the program.
For a hands-on, his professor asked the class to create 4 program applications that uses the conditions she "taught" the class. The applications are to be submitted that day and the professor flashes her presentation as if her students have eyes that see at the speed of light.
The class submitted the applications to an online site by the end of the class because of their "cooperation". Being the honest man he normally is, the man I'm talking about was unable to finish the applications. He went to ask the professor to send to his e-mail the presentation she used so he can study it and finish the applications she requires. At first she refused but later showed 'compassion' and sent it.
Thing is, the professor is very demanding. Their subject is programming but the class' project for Finals is software development. You can only imagine this man's disdain for her professor.
As he went home, he contemplated on the days ahead. His insurmountable problems, his unfinished tasks, chores and work. His mounting laundry, piles of documents and events his team organized. As he's nearing home, he asked himself the question, "What if?" He wants to end it all. "What if I ended it today?" "With a rope? Pills perhaps?"
He thought now he's doomed and it's the only way out. He had this mindset that things turned for the worst. Until he saw a family friend walking in front of him. He hastened his steps and greeted the friend. They talked for a while and the friend had to take another way. As their conversation ended and he went on his way, someone showed him in a flash, the things he never took to appreciate. All the things he is and should be thankful for All the things he still needed done. All the things he wanted to accomplish. Someone all-powerful. Someone omniscient. Someone omnipresent.
Just like that, his mood, mindset and visage changed. The gloomy look in his face was replaced by a gentle smile. The song playing in his music player (in shuffle mode) turned to a soft one as he turned to a corner. It's as if the song became the theme song of his life. The song told him that Someone great is in control; no need to worry.
His mindset and outlook became positive. He thought, "I still got a lot to live for."
The song in his MP3 player shuffled again and the song told him the reason he lives. Not for himself, but for HIM. He arrived home now thinking of the days ahead. The days his Savior prepared for his life. A life that's abundant and prosperous, and purposeful."
I believe you know who 'Someone' is. God.
Why don't you trust Him alone with your life? Remember, He's in control.
Truth is, dates can never tell us the whole story of that day. Just like the man I'm talking about. Life can take a turn for the better when you least expect it. When we think we are at our darkest hour, be glad! For we know that the darkest hour of the day is the hour right before the light of the morning pierces the darkness.
