Trip to Nayong Pilipino

So, this afternoon, after lunch and watching El Autentico Rodrigo Leal (English Translation: The Real Rodrigo Leal) (English Title: Finding Rodrigo), I went to Nayong Pilipino (English Translation: Filipino Village) in ParaƱaque City to deliver a package. That package is actually due last second week of November so I thought that I deliver it today to lessen the burden of tons of work I need to finish.

I rode a bus to MIA (Manila International Airport, now Ninoy Aquino International Airport). The conductor of the bus said that the fare from Estrella to MIA is twenty-five pesos (P25.oo). I thought it's quite expensive. I guessed that the fare would be around P18.00-P21.00. Anyway, when we reached MIA Road, I asked where the Nayong Pilipino is located. He said that it's straight ahead.

I saw the large, shiny, metallic script sign saying: Nayong Pilipino. I rode off and figured out where is the freakin' pedestrian lane. I saw nothing. As I walked some few meters, I saw the second part of the pedestrian lane on the other side of the road. The first part of the pedestrian lane (I'm talking about the white paint on the road) is almost invisible because it's all been worn out.

Atytention Metro Manila Development Authority, construct a footbridge or an overpass on MIA Road before anyone dies a tragic death there. I'm kind enough to say PLEASE. PLEASE DON'T PAINT IT PINK. Blue is much better.

I literally played "patintero" (A native Filipino game in whic you must avoid being tagged by players of the other team who is guarding an invisible lane) on MIA road as the vehicles passing there are like 350 kph! Nah, too exaggerated. Around 50-60 kph, I suppose.

Fortunately, I'm safe and currently encoding this. No Rege, No blog. Hahaha....

After delivering it to the office of the Executive Director, I went back to school for some unfinished stuff.

22 Days before Christmas! Have a great day everyone!

Contact Lens Horror...

Salut! Before we departed for the concert venue last Sunday, I took my eyeglasses off and wore contact lenses. Sunday night, when I arrived home, I had difficulty of removing both lenses. Thankfully, I removed the one I'm wearing on my right eye. To my horror, I cannot in any way remove the one on my left eye.

And I am still wearing my left eye's contact lens, until TODAY! Waaaaaaah!

I actually am wondering if it fell from my eye during the concert. However, one can actually feel if one's contact lens falls off. And just yesternight, I was trying to take it off. I can feel a thin film that won't come off. I thought it was my contact lens. However, I had second thoughts. What if I am peeling off my cornea???? Waaaaah! Help!

Tomorrow, I have a date to the ophthalmologist. I hope she can take it off. Blessed day!

"In Awe of a Great God" Worship Concert Recall

Bonjour tout le monde! So here's what happened yesterday at the "In Awe of a Great God" Worship Concert:
After the Morning Service at SBC-Makati, we had a dry run of the song "Prepare the Way". We practiced that song that we'll be singing for about three times. We then made our way to the concert venue, the iCite building in Eastwood City, Libis. We split in two teams. The first team was composed of Pastor Jeff, Eloisa, Ellaine, Eunice and Clarissa. They all rode in Pastor's car. The second team was composed of Manny, Ric, Ate Sarj, Ate Swelyn and myself. We rode a cab. The first team departed first. We had trouble finding a cab. When we were finally inside the cab, each one of us had our own topics to discuss. We were actually surprised that the first team was actually behind us when in fact, they departed first. We were waiting for about five minutes for a cab when we splitted into two teams and still no sign of the first team. We thought that they took another route. We concluded that a traffic jam might've occurred in the Kalayaan-EDSA U-turn slot at the end of Kalayaaan Avenue. While we were on our way to the venue, we had a nice talk with the cab's driver. Pastor's car sped past us. We followed Pastor's car as we really don't know where the venue is, except for the fact that it is in Eastwood.

We were discussing how "malikot", a driver, our Pastor is. Pastor jeff loves to overtake. He keeps on shifting lanes whenever possible. Overtaking would be a summarizing term. Our cab driver even remarked that he was like a cab driver who loves overtaking. When we told him that the driver of the cab is a Pastor, just chuckled.

Enough of what happened before hand. When we finally arrived at the venue, we set the instruments up and we sat on the front row of the auditorium for a meeting. We had another dry run, this time, of the whole program. We went up first, hence, front act of the concert. When we finished singing "Prepare the Way", I felt so utterly stupid, when, to my dismay, I discovered to my horror that the microphone I was using, was turned off! Mixed emotions. I was laughing and hating myself at the same time. It's just good though, that I commit stupid things once in a blue moon. We had a treat after. Cheeseburger and French Fries from a well-known food chain. Clue: The 13th letter of the Alphabet. I have to walk out of the building to buy facial napkin. I walked almost a kilometer to the nearest convenience store nearby. As I walked, I admired the beautifully crafted buildings in Eastwood. "Very much like Makati," I said to myself.

On to the concert proper. We prayed before starting our front act. Pastor Lance led the prayer. Our act of worship to the Lord went smoothly. Yes, we didn't do that for the attenders of the concert because that'd be called "showing off". We did that for the Lord. It's not about them nor us, but it's all about God. That's how we do it in Christian Ministry.
I made a couple, say three mistakes during the front act. I sang the part wherein Kuya Ted, the lead singer and organizer, was the only one who was supposed to sing. I sung the wrong lyrics and I cut short what was supposed to be a 12-count "Prepare the Way...........".

There still is room for improvement.
